As upstream yields increase, buffer management has become a major manufacturing bottleneck. We’re designing and building more In-Line Dilution (ILD) skids than ever before to help our biopharma clients shift to concentrated buffers; slashing facility footprints, cutting capital costs, and driving sustainability by reducing the massive water and energy requirements of traditional bulk storage. We’re incorporating ILD both as stand-alone skids, but also on-skid for process steps like Chromatography.
This particular ILD skid was shipped out from our Charleville facility this month. Designed for diluting concentrated buffer with WFI, the skid is built around dual quaternary diaphragm pumps and a static mixer, with two back pressure regulating valves and 10 diaphragm valves controlling flow throughout the system. Inline instrumentation covers flow, pressure, temperature, conductivity, and pH, giving full process visibility at every stage of the dilution process. Pipework is a combination of 1.4435 and AL-6XN, selected to meet the fluid contact requirements of the application. The whole system is skid-mounted on a mobile frame, keeping the footprint compact and the installation straightforward.
